Storyboarding

What's the plan?

By now you should be able to start writing and illustrating your own children's picture book. Storyboarding is a way to draft your book. Find more about storyboarding from the University of Houston.

Use the writers' test, information from the web sites, other books, etc. to draft your own story. If you can't draw, try using clipart or images from the copyright friendly pictures sites to find art that will go with your story.

Task for Day 6

  1. Begin storyboarding. You may use the StoryBoard handout, the storyboard from UH or create your own.
  2. Draft your book using the storyboard. You will not be graded on the detail in your pictures or on the text for each picture. However, you should show how your ideas are coming along.
  3. Give your storyboard to Mrs. Kneifel or Mrs. Hooper before leaving.
  4. When you are done, work on your book. If there are any special items you will need to create your book, now is the time to tell Mrs. Kneifel or Hooper.
